Mendut Temple, situated in the Yogyakarta region of Java Island is one of the Indonesia Java International Destination. Mendut Temple is older than the popular temple of Borobudur. The walls of the Mendut Temple contain stories for children. This Mendut temple is located at a distance of 1km from the east of the Pawon Temple. The temple consists of beautiful statuse of Buddha. The offerings and prayers for the Waisak Ceremony begins in this Mendut Temple. The locals and tourists prefer to visit this temple during the Waisak festival which falls on the full moon day in May. The temple’s architecture is of square shape and the entrance consists of steps. The roof of the Mendut Temple is also terraced and consists of stupas. Pawon Temple, situated in the Yogyakarta region of Java Island is one of the Indonesia Java International Destination. Pawon temple consists of the weapon of King Indra known as Vajranala and it is not a grave. This temple is situated at a distance of 2km from the eastern side of Borobudur. The temple also consists of a statue of Buddha. The construction style of the Pawon temple and the relief carved on its wall makes it to resemble most of the Javanese Hindu temple though it is a Buddhist temple.
